Digg: Update iOS app with support for iPad


Digg does not seem to have had the last word. The former glory of the Web has been a slow erosion of its audience. Chapter seemed closed when mid-July, Betaworks (behind Bit.ly among others) was bought for a pittance.

But the community site tries to regain its luster. Thus, under the aegis of Betaworks, Digg had quickly worked on a new version of its application iPhone that appeared on the App Store late July. And now version 3.1 of its application iOS.

To regain the hearing which has been sadly lacking in recent months, the company founded by Kevin Rose (among others) now offers an app so universally compatible with iPad.

Several improvements are also made as the ease of navigation but also feature "Reading Sync" which allows users to Digg resume playback on different devices where it had been left. It is also possible to share articles in text format.

Digg was once a flourishing society and tries to restart. But will she be able to capture the audience of the past? This is another question. Other similar services that have emerged since Reddit.
