Facebook: Zuckerberg hacked into the wall to indicate a security

This is a security that the founder of Facebook , Mark Zuckerberg, has not been able to ignore. It it was indeed reported directly to the page by an expert in Palestinian security Khalil Shreateh.

To bring this bug, overlooked by Facebook's security team, to the knowledge of the owner of the social network, the researcher has just published a message on his page. Except that, in principle, it would not have been able to do so.

No reward for the researcher

This is thanks to the identified vulnerability he could. The flaw allows users to post messages on the timeline of other Facebook members, even if they are not on their friends list.

Khalil Shreateh has therefore demonstrated thus issuing this warning in the message thread from Mark Zuckerberg himself. This bug had not yet been adopted in the framework of Facebook security where bonuses are awarded to researchers for their responsible disclosure.

A few minutes after his demonstration, Shreateh was contacted by IT security social network - and Facebook account disabled by "precaution". The flaw has also since been corrected.

But no reward for the security expert. Facebook has held that the researcher had violated the rules of use and had also not followed the principles of responsible disclosure.

Pinterest: more information to the content pinned

Pinterest going strong. Late last year, the famous social network and totaled 20 million users, an increase of 2702% compared to the previous year. However, the company does not want to rest on its laurels and it thus has consistently deploy new features. After the new interface and arrival statistics , thus the sharing module which now enjoys some significant improvements, improvements that affect mainly the information retrieved when a user pin content on one of his paintings edge. Pinterest is and wants to be more useful, more practical, and it might allow the service to attract new users.

Until now, when someone wanted to share content one of its panels, Pinterest was able to recover only the media of the associated page. The user, in turn, still had the option to add a description, but it is unfortunately not going much further.

Soon, things will be very different and the team in charge of Pinterest is thus working on a new module sharing friendlier and especially much more comprehensive. Available for certain content, it can recover a bit more elements then the display directly on our dashboards. In the case of a film, for example, is the complete and other information related to movies that are uploaded by the casting tool. Same for recipes, where we have this time right ingredients and all associated details. Shopping sites will not be outdone and it's downright price and date of availability of our products to be well recovered by the module.

Towards "rich pine" button and compatible with mobile applications

Not bad, of course, but know however that these new sharing options are not yet available everywhere. It thus seems that we can not still enjoy in Europe and only some sites would test this new tool , sites like Etsy, Netflix and others. However, for those interested, Pinterest has posted on this page a complete documentation on these "rich pine."

In addition to this new, Pinterest has also announced that it implemented a new share button designed and developed for our mobile applications. Again, only a few applications can take advantage of the moment but this novelty should be rapidly extended to most of the mobile applications market. Morality, if you do intensive use of Pinterest, then something tells me that you must be very happy.

Facebook: Cover Photos landed on the events

One relatively recent features among the most interesting Facebook is adding the ability to improve our visual profiles with a cover photo, a feature that has since been extended to the pages . But there was another section which hitherto resisted the onslaught of coverage: events. Indeed, the events pages could be customized with a kind of profile picture. This is no longer the case since you can now add a cover photo to your event , a photo which will therefore entire width of the page and that will not complement the current picture but instead : unlike profiles and pages, you can combine the two and add a cover photo.

Not to mention revolution, that change is going to help a little better customize our events, a wide picture with more likely to be useful as a small image.

To add a cover photo to your event, the procedure to follow is quite simple as you just go to the page in question and click on "Add a photo to the event" more difficult to clear . You have the choice between upload a new photo or choose one from those already online. You can then adjust the position of the image and then delete it or change it later without any problems.

If the new can leave more than one indifferent, it should nevertheless be of interest to some, those who like to customize everything that moves, including.

Blackbird, the social network for students

Many have forgotten, but Facebook was the basis for a service only to students . Service on which they could express themselves, share their views or even post pictures of the cutest girls in their campus. Today, of course, things have changed. Yes, this is exactly why a group of enthusiasts decided to develop its own social platform, a platform designed solely to facilitate the lives of students by giving them the opportunity to easily share any type of content. His name? Blackbird, and finally the address to know when arrives at a new school.

Blackbird operation is quite simple. In reality, each student will have the opportunity to create a group for their school. Once it has opened, all students attending the place will have the opportunity to share different types of content such as tips, useful info, classifieds and so on. Be careful though because in order to share content in the group, it will obviously show white leg and thus have an email address in-school. In addition, to create a new group, the student will necessarily achieve together 50 people.

And then, how's it going? Well every page, every group, every school in the form of a huge panel on which students will be able to pin up their contributions. Obviously difficult not to think of Pinterest, we agree. The interesting thing, however, is that each content can be categorized. Thus, when open the page of the school, we can easily filter the contributions according to their usefulness, and also in terms of the message delivered. In a few clicks, you can therefore put forward the recruitment offers for student jobs, classifieds shared by peers, tutorials or even information related to accommodation.

To open content, it will just click. From the window that magically appear before your eyes wide open, you can leave a comment or share contribution on Twitter and / or Facebook. Cool. At the top of each page, you will also find several buttons to access his profile to find friends or to access notifications.

Simple, practical, well thought out, it is a service that will appeal to students necessarily. Remains whether just manage to find its audience, of course.

HTC M7: sensor type "ultrapixel"?

We thought all know the HTC M7 but it seems that this is actually not the case. The guy might actually have retained an asset in his game, an asset that would affect its camera function and more specifically the onboard sensor. Even though all the sensors on the market are expressed in megapixels, HTC have opted for another home device, an alternative that even has a name very promising in terms of marketing: the ultrapixel or the ultrapixels is the choice. And if you want to know more about this funny thing, well you can say that you are very well fallen.

I do not know if you have seen the information but Peter Chou made a splash last Friday by presenting, on the occasion of the celebration of the end of the year organized by HTC, one of the most anticipated mobile time. Which one? No, it is obviously not the Galaxy S4, but the HTC M7. The interesting thing is that Peter has defended his actions by saying he wanted to test the camera ... its new smartphone.

Interesting, no? Of course, since all sensors smartphones typically operate in the same way. Finally out of 808 Nokia PureView, obviously. In this context, one may wonder why the CEO of the firm needed to test this function. According to Pocket-Lint, the explanation is clear enough, the HTC M7 benefit of a different sensor than what is currently on the market.

Ultrapixel: three layers of 4.3 megapixels each for a single sensor

Different in what way? Well actually, the sensor of the HTC M7 involve three layers of pixels, each containing 4.3 megapixels, and a total of 12.9 megapixels. Interesting but do not summarize ultrapixel a riot of megapixels. No, because the real value of this sensor, it would mainly provide better color rendering and produce, in addition, sharper images . And there's more, since the HTC engineers would eventually inspired technology PureView Nokia to produce this sensor.

All this information is obviously to be taken lightly, but I think for me it would be quite logical that HTC seeks to differentiate itself from the competition by focusing on this feature. Whatever anyone says, mobile users are increasingly attentive to clichés and videos produced by the mobile market and the company would be well advised to bet on this horse easier to impose its new terminal on the market.

Twitter: soon a two-factor authentication for greater security?

I do not speak due to time constraints but Twitter has recently been the victim of a particularly vicious attack which has compromised no less than 250,000 accounts. The Californian firm has obviously not quick to react by contacting the holders of these accounts, but it seems does not want to stop there. Twitter could soon deploy an update to implement a double authentication. Exactly like what Google offers for some time now. And when you see the number of attacks suffered by the service, we say that it would not necessarily luxury.

From what we know, this latest attack would have compromised more than 250,000 accounts. Accounts belonging to anonymous, of course, like you and me, but also a few celebrities. Incredible, is not it? Of course, although we do not know exactly what data have been collected by our nasty pirates, it seems that the usernames, email addresses and passwords are concerned.

To prevent this from happening, Twitter would therefore put in place a new system based on two-factor authentication. The procedure is fully automated and this new system is put in place so that when the user logs in from a terminal that is not recognized by the service. As the office computer, the touch pad or the neighbor. There obviously still require Twitter password of the user, but it could send more SMS with a unique identification code and generated randomly.

As mentioned a little earlier, Twitter is not the first to implement a system such as Google already proposed in recent years. However, if you are worried about the security of your account, you would perhaps go look towards all the permissions given to software and third party services. Because casually, cleaning from time to time, it does not hurt anyone.
