Microsoft has announced that Halo's license has over 50 million copies sold worldwide.
The series launched in 2001 on Xbox now has eight titles and still knows a nice success. Halo 4, the last episode of the series, would have passed 4 million copies since its release on November 6. A great success for the title that had reported nearly $ 220 million in 24 hours.
Microsoft does not stop there with Halo since the last episode started a new trilogy. Frank O'Connor, Director of the license at 343 Industries, told website CVG that the development of the next episode has already begun.
"Many people are already working on some ideas prototypes as well as the graphical and technical Halo future products. I can not say more, but development began well before the release of Halo 4. We are excited for the next game"
