The press release we received leaves no room for doubt: the Chinese manufacturer ZTE during MWC reveal two important novelties. The first is the Grand ZTE Memo. The second is more original: it is a smartphone OS that Firefox should be called the ZTE Mozilla.
All these developments will be presented during the press conference to be held ZTE Monday, February 25 from 16h. You can count on us for the relay! A priori terminals that will host this OS will be positioned at entry level with very competitive prices, and aspire to be a credible alternative to the dominant OS mobile landscape.
All this is really just confirmation of what has been announced in July 2012 Mozilla: at that time, and while Firefox OS (which, remember, is based on the HTML5) was only in its infancy Mozilla already stated that the OS supports benefited from several operators phone in North America and Europe, as well as two manufacturers that are ZTE and TCL (which markets the Alcatel One Touch). One can imagine that the main aim of all these actors is to reduce their dependence on Google and its Android OS, which represents a more dominant sales.
